Why use a travel agent?  Click here or read on.

Because travel agents, particularly those affiliated with Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), are the traveler's best resource for planning a cruise vacation!  We specialize in cruise vacations and, as a CLIA affiliate, are especially qualified to help you choose the perfect cruise and the best vacation value.

To earn the designation of "Accredited Cruise Counsellor", we completed the following requirements:

  • Completion of 3 "Mandatory Training" courses with a passing grade
  • Attendance at a cruise conference
  • Completion of at least 1 additional course on the cruise industry
  • Attendance at a CLIA endorsed cruise conference for training seminars and familiarization with cruise lines and cruise ships.
  • Inspection of at least 10 cruise ships

We also have to take at least one course per year to renew.  In December 2003, Char completed her Master Cruise Counsellor certification.

Our last bit of advice - take a vacation from planning your vacation - visit a CLIA affiliated travel agency soon because - You haven't lived until you've cruised!

Every day, more and more people are discovering the all-inclusive pleasures of a cruise vacation. More singles, families, couples, honeymooners, second honeymooners and groups of friends are sailing away on the vacation of their lives. Last year alone approximately seven million people enjoyed a cruise vacation. When you add it all up, it's easy to see why.

The price of your ticket includes all of your meals and in-between snacks on-board; your stateroom, activities, parties and entertainment; plus, an exciting voyage to some of the most enchanting and culturally-enriching places in the world.

You'll find that a cruise ship is a floating resort, with all the things a fine resort has to offer and more! You'll meet new friends who share the same tastes and interests as you.

The hassles of an ordinary vacation are completely eliminated. A cruise is one convenient package. You don't have to worry about making dinner or nightclub reservations, running to make flight connections as you travel from one destination to another, or packing and unpacking.

You can lie back and be completely pampered. Or, go non-stop. Dine like never before. Enjoy one great show after another. Let your cares float away!

It's no wonder that more people are taking cruise vacations than ever before. And once they get a taste of cruising, they come back for more, again and again.

FACT - Cruises have a higher percentage of satisfied customers than any other vacation experience. Ask your CLIA-affiliated travel agent about cruising. Chances are, he or she will recommend a cruise vacation from personal experience.

SUGGESTION - Take their advice!

Do I have to dress up?

NO!  You have the option on many cruise lines.  If you choose a ship that offers choices, you may wear slacks and a collared shirt (no jeans or T-shirts allowed in the dining room) any time.  If you like to (or if someone in your party likes to), there are formal nights.  It IS nice to see your party all dressed up one night for a photo.  Other options may include a buffet or room service, but for dinner, you usually need to make arrangements ahead of time.  Your ship may have a pizza parlor or outdoor grill.
